My Story:
I began my career at an event company promoting endurance events. It was there that I got an understanding of the breadth of what marketing could entail. I did a little bit of everything at that company but my main responsibility was digital. That meant I was in charge of all organic and paid digital marketing which included email, social media, display, and search.
I fell in love with digital right away. The ability to measure and understand the impact of my creations was extremely satisfying!
After two years I felt it was time to hone my depth of digital marketing knowledge, joining a digital marketing agency was the next step for me. After applying twice to Nina Hale twice I was able to move on to the next stage of my career. I really wanted to work at Nina Hale and kept in touch with the hiring manager after my first interview. After being hired at Nina Hale (now Collective Measures) I was able to learn how to manage paid search, paid social, GDN, and YouTube media at an agency level. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to understand how each marketing channel works together.
It was stressful learning multiple channels at once but ultimately worth the feeling of accomplishment when it all finally clicked. The experience taught me the value of bringing a notebook everywhere!
After working at Nina Hale for almost three years, I felt my learning had slowed and I decided it was finally time to move to New York. I joined Publicis Sapient (now razorfish) in 2019 and jumped into work on the Marriott account immediately. Publicis had recently become Marriott’s agency of record and I was the second new hire on the team. My position allowed me to have a role in developing the team, especially junior members with little to no search agency experience.
I got to have a large part in training new team members and I am proud to say I created a comprehensive training plan for the team to build upon in the future.
I wasn’t looking to leave my role at Publicis however when I was contacted about a media supervisor role at Essence, I had been feeling a strong desire to lead my own team. Essence proved to be the perfect opportunity to put my team building skills to work! At Essence I was able to lead a 2 person team overseeing paid search, paid social, and Google Display / YT for a large vision insurance provider. At this point in my life I decided I wanted to leave NY and have my own apartment.
Abercrombie reached out to me on LinkedIn and while being initially skeptical of the brand I quickly fell in love with the people I would soon work alongside. A&F was just beginning their rebrand and cultural resurgence, everyone I spoke to in my interview process was so excited for the future of the brand. I’m proud to say that I was able to have a key role in developing the media strategy that helped bring A&F back to popularity. Not long after the A&F band took off like a rocket ship, Nike reached out to me on LinkedIn. After speaking with the team I was excited to take the next step in my career at a company with such large technological capabilities.
At Nike I was able to work with IT & Dev team members to bring new technological advancements to our media program as well as work with marketing science team members to calibrate Nike’s internal MMM. I also lead the testing roadmap for paid search media and was able to drive ~52M in incremental revenue for Nike over 2 years. I’m so proud of the value I’ve been able to bring to Nike and my other past positions. I can’t wait to keep learning and growing for whatever is next!
